The Start-up Visa and Innovator Visa were introduced in March 2019 to replace the Tier 1 Graduate Entrepreneur Visa and the Tier 1 Entrepreneur Visa respectively following a 2015 review by the Migration Advisory Committee.

There are 2 types of representatives of an overseas business: Sole Representatives and Media Representatives; an applicant must therefore be one of them. You can apply to enter or stay in the UK as a representative of an overseas business.

The new Points-Based System (PBS) includes a route for Skilled Workers which allows you to come to the UK to do an eligible job with a Home Office approved employer; following Brexit, this requirement now applies to both EU nationals.

Your business requires a sponsor licence to employ someone from outside the UK; following Brexit this requirement has now been extended to European Economic Area (EEA) and Switzerland nationals who arrived in the UK after 31 December 2020.

The Tier 1 (Investor) category is for high-net-worth individuals making a substantial financial investment in the UK. Under the Tier 1 (Investor) requirements, you must score at least 75 points for attributes.
